When someone is really successful in one area, sometimes people pretend that they are successful in other areas, even if they aren't. Take Ashanti.

Now, I don't think Ashanti is ugly. She's okay. Not bad, but not great. With some photoshop and the right lighting, she can look good. But stand her next to Adriana Lima, and there's no point pretending. She's just not on that level.

Same thing with her music. It's okay. She's not bad. But she's not great either. She can sing her poppy little songs. But put her up there with Mary J Blige, and she'll be revealed for what she really is - a good performer, but not a great artist.

If you don't get what I am saying, take a look at her red carpet shots. You can't photoshop those. And when she takes them, she just doesn't look good.

Why tell you all this? Because it irritates me when someone fakes their way into getting more credit than they deserve. To me, Ashanti is half fake, half real, a little talent, a lot of hype. She even likes fake rappers like Jah Rule and Nelly. Go figure.
